Clinical study of the Density range

CLINICAL STUDY

Density range

Visibly denser hair

Density products have been developed to increase hair mass, strengthen the fibre and promote visibly stronger, more vibrant hair.

Thanks to a combination of targeted active ingredients and clinically tested formulas, the products in the range act on hair density.

Clinically proven effectiveness

Each product in the Density range has been the subject of a dedicated clinical study to assess its effectiveness on the number of hairs in the anagen phase (growth phase).

The clinical study is carried out under dermatological supervision to assess the product's effectiveness on hair density.

It is conducted over 12 weeks with 32 to 54 volunteers experiencing telogen effluvium hair loss.

Assessments are carried out before use (T0) and then after 4, 8 and 12 weeks of product use.

THE METHOD

Scientific analysis of the hair cycle

Performance was measured using a phototrichogram, a scientific imaging technique that enables precise analysis of hair density and the hair cycle.

The study consists of:

  1. Analysing a targeted area of the scalp.
  2. This area is shaved, cleansed and dyed, then photographed, with a second photograph taken 48 hours later.
  3. One photograph is taken, followed by a second photograph 48 hours later.
  4. The images can then be used to measure, via software:
  • total hair density
  • density and the proportion of hairs in the resting phase (telogen)
  • density and the proportion of hairs in the growth phase (anagen)
  • as well as the anagen/telogen ratio

An increase in the number of hairs in the anagen phase indicates improved hair density, with visibly fuller-looking hair.

Scientific analysis of the hair cycle

The phototrichogram enables precise analysis of hair density and the hair life cycle.

This technology measures several key parameters:

Hair density
Total number of hairs per cm² in the anagen phase.

Hair growth cycle
Each hair is identified according to its phase:

  • Anagen phase: active growth phase
  • Telogen phase: shedding phase

Anagen/telogen ratio

The higher the ratio of hairs in the anagen/telogen phase, the denser and visibly fuller the hair.

STUDY RESULTS

Clinical studies

*Density shampoo:
*clinical study, 33 people, an average increase of 11.3 existing hairs per cm2 in the anagen phase (growth phase), after 12 weeks of application 3 times a week.

Density conditioner:
clinical study, 32 people, an average increase of 12.2 existing hairs per cm2 in the anagen phase (growth phase), after 12 weeks of application 3 times a week.

Density mask:
clinical study, 33 people, an average increase of 12.7 existing hairs per cm2 in the anagen phase (growth phase), after 12 weeks of application 3 times a week.

Density serum:
clinical study, 54 volunteers: an average increase of 27.7 hairs per cm2 in hair density in the growth phase (anagen phase) after 3 months of application, with the product applied to the scalp twice daily.
