Luxéol is renewing its support for Coiffeurs Justes in 2026. The charity recycles hair cut in salons to make anti-pollution filters that can absorb hydrocarbons from harbour water.
Hair is naturally oleophilic: it absorbs hydrocarbons and other oily pollutants while repelling water, making it an effective natural filter against harbour pollution. Coiffeurs Justes collects cut hair from partner salons to make these filters, which are deployed first in harbours where marine biodiversity is most at risk. Luxéol’s financial donation is earmarked directly for this work and funds the capacity to recover one million litres of hydrocarbons.
